Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center Hosts Healthy Harvest Events
June 19, 2026
Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center in Leitchfield recently hosted a Healthy Harvest event at the hospital, reflecting their continued commitment to community wellness and meaningful local partnerships with a focus on Food is Medicine.
A key component of this initiative is the hospital’s collaboration with the Grayson County Farmers Market. To encourage healthy eating and support local vendors, Twin Lakes provides its team members with $3 “Carrot Cash” vouchers to use at the market, helping incentivize shopping locally and increasing access to fresh, nutritious foods.
In addition to promoting healthy food access, the hospital incorporated an Arts in Healing element to engage both staff and the broader community. They welcomed Grayson County High School art students on site to create a vibrant mural on the cafeteria windows featuring painted trees. Team members and participants were then invited to decorate paper leaves illustrating what “healing means to them,” which were displayed on the trees — creating a meaningful, interactive visual representation of wellness and connection.
Participants also received strawberry-themed tote bags, along with health services information, recipe cards, and other swag items to support continued engagement in their well-being. Twin Lakes was also pleased to partner with the Grayson County Health Department, which was on site to provide Farmers Market vouchers to WIC recipients, further expanding access to fresh produce within the community.
The Twin Lakes team is proud of the collaborative spirit behind these events and the opportunity to promote health through nutrition, creativity, and community engagement.
The next Healthy Harvest event will be held on July 8.
